The earthquake hit central at 3:34 AM on Saturday, February 27, 2010. 78 deaths have been reported so far- phone lines were in down Concepcion as of 7:30. The quake is reported to be a 1,000 times more powerful than the one that hit Haiti on January 12, which has caused at least 230,000 deaths.
